If you haven't yet come across it then check out the Mona Lisa created from coffee because this portrait simply reminded me of that art. Those were cups of coffee and what we have today are toasted breads! Remarkable, isn't it? The portrait put together from toasted breads is currently the world's largest of its kind, and attested by the Guinness World Records .
Laura Hadland, a museum curator influenced by Roman mosaic art, struck upon the idea of making a portrait of her mother-in-law, Sandra Whitfield with toasts. Using 9,852 bread slices and help from 40 friends, she created this unique gift for Sandra's birthday."They used a battery of nine toasters to brown the slices of bread to varying degrees before arranging it to make the 32ft 8in by 42ft 3in picture at an arts venue in Mrs Whitfield's home town of Warrington, Cheshire." Cheers and toast to the 128 m² artwork!
