It's February! The official month of the heart is upon us, so we thought we'd dust off our origami skills to fold a few. Follow along to make a heart of your own!

First take an 8 1/2 x 11 sheet of paper and fold one corner to match its opposite edge. Cut off the excess (along the dotted line) and you'll have a square. Next, fold in half and then, in half again.

Now unfold the paper so your square is flat again. Fold the bottom to meet the center crease. Flip your paper and fold the two triangular corners up to meet each other. Next, flip your paper again and fold the bottom point to meet the top. Flip one more time and open the bottom folds using your finger.

Next, fold the little triangles in from each edge, making a diamond shape. Then, make a micro-fold over the tops of the diamonds. Flip your paper and voilà, a heart! Simply fold the excess behind, this will create a little stand for your heart. You can also just trim the edges.

We tucked a sweet Valentine's message inside of our heart. What will you make out of yours? A garland, a gift-topper, a bookmark—the possibilities for this little paper sculpture are endless!
