A few weeks ago Netflix updated their web player to look a bit more in line with the times.  Now a similar update has arrived for iOS device, which not only boasts a new aesthetic but a speedier performance that will have many iPad and iPhone owners nodding their head in agreement.

The update is available now in the app store.  If you update it directly on your device it should take more 30s seconds, or at least that was our experience.  First thing you'll notice is that buffering has been vastly improved.  Movies and TV shows start much faster, and although there is no thumbnail during scrubbing (Netflix says there is), fast forwarding happens extremely fast, so fast in fact during our brief test we we're left wondering why the web version doesn't move this quick.  Aesthetically, the progress bar and play button have been made to look a bit more chunky and they've added a fatter volume control that is easier to access as well as a button for audio and caption.
