Are you redecorating your home but can't seem to find the right table to complete your décor? Don't worry too much because there are plenty of alternatives. There's always a DIY project that can help you out. For example, we just found these beautiful DIY tables and we're sure there are plenty more where these came from. Let's take a look at them and see them closely.
1. Wine crate coffee table.
This is a chic, vintage coffee table and it's not that difficult to make either. You need 4 wooden crates that should measure around 12.5″W x 18″L x 9.5″H, two 1x2x6 pieces of wood and four casters. Optionally, you can also use images, screws, nails, L brackets and bolts and sating polyurethane.
The final dimensions of the table will be around 27″W x 27″D x 17″H. First stain the crates and use nails to hold them in place temporarily and cover up the hole in the middle. Then transfer the images if you want any and then stain them again. Add the casters and the satin finish and you're done.{found on diy-vintage-chic}.
2. Table with a graphic top.
This is actually a makeover project. This was originally a desk then turned into a table. The whole idea is to customize the top with triangle-shaped stickers of different colors. Add the triangles randomly until you cover the entire surface and make sure you vary the colors for a uniform look.{found on decocrush}.
3. Live edge table.
For this project you need a table base. An old table with no top would be perfect. The idea is to create a new wood top with an original design. Since this project is for an outdoor table, you can also include an ice bucket in the middle. Find some large pieces of wood and put them together to make a top. Make a hole for the bucket if you want one and insert it. Then, to make the edges of the table, use a belt sander. Get creative until you're happy with the results and, at the end, stain the table.{found on thehuntedinterior}.
4. Log table.
To make a rustic log table you need a portion from a tree log. You can either find a log in the forest on somewhere else if you're lucky or you can buy it. There's also another alternative, a simpler one. You can buy an IKEA stool featuring a similar design and turn it into an end table.{found on seakettle}.
5. Wood mosaic table.
This is another wood table but this time with a more elaborate design. Instead of using a large log, this time you'll need several small ones. The idea is to cut them to the same height and to try to create a mosaic with them. You can glue them together and you can also wrap a piece of rope or something similar around them. You should be able to create an original coffee table.
6. Striped table with no paint involved.
This is a very colorful and fun project. The idea is to use an old table with a top that you don't really like and to give it a makeover. You don't need paint for this project, just a lot of colored tape. Use it to make stripes to cover the entire surface of the tabletop. You can also wrap the edges in tape. You can also cover it with lacquer or add plexiglass on top to protect the design.
7. Simple dining table.
To make a lovely and simple dining table such as the one in the pictures you'll need some boards in the size that you want, a plank, screws, sandpaper, stain and table legs. First align the boards together facing down, screw them together using a plank and then use sandpaper the remove the sharp edges. 8. Pallet coffee table.
Pallet tables are very common and very easy to make. To make it you'll need about half of a wood pallet. Decide the dimensions for the table and then remove some of the boards and cut them to size. Reattach them using nails and then sand the table. Then you can stain or seal the wood if you want. At the end, you can either add legs, casters or leave the table as such.{found on hernewleaf}.
9. Factory cart table.
This is another very interesting project. To make a similar table you need to have textured spray paint, matte black spray paint, lumber, wood boards, wheels, stain, sand paper, corner pieces, nails, bolts, nuts, washers, clamps and L brackets. First make the measurements and spray paint all the hardware including the wheels. Then make the basic box and sue nails to hold the wood pieces in place. Then use L brackets to keep them sturdy and add the bolts. Tighten the nuts into the bolts and attach the wheels.Then add the corner pieces sing nails{found on theblissfulbeeblog}.
10. Cable spool table.
Obviously, for this project you'll need a cable spool. You'll also need a power sander, a cordless drill, a 1-inch spade drill bit, wood stain, 2.5 inch screws, a compass, 8 feet of 1'' dowel rods, a level, a wrench and a hammer. First hammer down the nails to make a smooth surface and then sand the whole thing. Add the wood stain, let it dry and install the dowels. 11. Wood dining table.
This is a table that you can make from scratch. Putting together the frame is easy. Then start adding the planks and use screws to keep them secure. Sand the whole thing and then stain it. At the end, apply multiple coats of table top varnish.{found on madebybird}.
12. Multipurpose table.
To make a table similar to this one you first need to select lumber at a size that suits you. Then place the boards on a flat surface and use shorter pieces of lumber and wood screws to the secure the table together. Sand everything and then paint or stain the table. 13. Reclaimed window coffee table.
It might sound weird but you can actually turn an old window into a lovely coffee table. You just need to attach four legs and a handle and you have an original coffee table with a clever storage space inside. If the window already has the dimensions you wanted then it's perfect.
