Sony has just unveiled several new PCs with unique designs, all of which are ready to take advantage of Windows 8 to its fullest potential.

The VAIO Tap 20 is being described as a  family tabletop PC. On one hand it's a full fledged all-in-one desktop PC with a 20″ display and a 10-point multi-touch screen. But it has a serious ace up its sleeve – and that is that it's portable tabletop! Thanks to a removable battery, the VAIO Tap 20 can be moved around the house. The VAIO Tap 20 also has a stand for holding it upright when you want to use it as a fully-functioning desktop PC. The VAIO Tap's unique form factor is sure to elicit a slew of unique apps which take advantage of the fact that it can be used like a tabletop. Sony has already partnered with Sony Pictures Home Entertainment to create the My Daily Clip application, a movie trivia game that lets up to four players gather around the VAIO Tap 20 and watch a wide range of scenes from Sony Pictures movies and answer trivia questions.

If you're looking for an even more portable beast, then the VAIO Duo 11 is it. This hybrid Ultrabook weighs just 2.84lbs and packs in an 11.6″ display that is made of scratch-resistant guerrilla glass. Its design features a a durable Surf Slider mechanism to switch smoothly between keyboard and tablet for a dual functioning computing experience. The VAIO Duo 11 also works with a pressure-sensitive digitizer stylus for those who want to sketch, draw and take notes on the tablet. The pen is even available with a choice of swappable pen tips which allows for a firmer or softer writing feel. Our initial impressions of the pressure-sensitive digitizer stylus is that it's very responsive. It's display is also great with very vivid colors. This Ultrabook is sure to open a world of possibilities for this form-factor.
