You can't avoid it, if game developers have their way, traditional board games will soon go the way of the dinosaur. More and more app developers are positioning their software to transform your iPad and Android tablets into interactive game boards. Jumbo Games is the latest company to take on family game night with iPieces, which allows up to six players to play board games such as Snakes & Ladders and Air Hockey on the iPad.
What makes iPieces special, is that each game includes physical pieces that take the interactivity to the next level. The iPad comes to life as a board game, but the pieces that you use to play on the iPad bring it to life. Each iPieces bundle comes with a free downloadable app and physical pieces associated with the game to use with the iPad. For example Air Hockey comes with hockey strikers, and snakes and ladders comes bundled with ladders. iPieces will retail for £9.99 and be available at Firebox or Amazon.co.uk later this month.
