Before you know it, the iPhone will be replacing not just musical instruments, but their accessories too. That is just what is happening with Harman's new iStomp, which is the world's first effects pedal that can be programmed with any sound. It's also a stomp box that has the ability to transform into a pedal by connecting it to your iPhone, or iPad, or iPod Touch. That means that musicians will be able to change to produce everything from a distortion to a reverb, a phaser to a tube overdrive, or a delay to a chorus, all with this stompbox for the iPhone, and it's done with the touch of a button.
All that is required to get up and running is to download the iStomp app onto your iOS device and then you'll have access to over 20 different pedals. The DigiTech iStomp from Harman retails for $229.95.
