Each one of us associate crayons with our childhood days.We might not even remember but for most of us the very first of our colorful creations had been achieved with these wonderful wax sticks. Christian Faur is an artist who has a similar exciting memory of using crayons when young, and now he finds himself again getting involved with the same in his artistic interpretations.

Unlike the way he created pictures in the past, he now uses the crayon stick itself as a part of the picture. Assembling numerous crayons with various hues in wooden frames, he makes each crayon look like a pixel in the picture and successfully creates "a new art form that uniquely balances the qualities of both photography and sculpture" .

Christian Faur states, "Because of the three-dimensional nature of the crayons, the individual surface images appear to change form as one moves about the gallery space. The images completely disappear when viewed from close up, allowing one to read the horizontally sequenced crayon text and to take in the beautifully colored crayon tips — all the while being reminded of that first box of crayons."
