Fountains in general are some of the most beautiful and appreciated accent pieces in any location. They are charming regardless of their size or design. However, some of them really stand out. These are the most impressive and the most amazing fountains in the world and they are admired by people all over the globe. Let's take a look at some of them.
1. The Unisphere.
The first fountain we decided to show you can be seen in Queens, New York City. It was named the Unisphere. In this case, it's not actually the fountain itself that stands out but rather the steel representation of the globe which is a symbol of the 1964/1965 New York World's Fair. 2. King Fahd's Fountain.
This is a fountain in the true sense of the word. It was King Fahd's donation to the city of Jeddah in Soudi Arabia and it's the world's tallest fountain. It shoots 1023 feet up in the air at a speed of 233 miles per hour. On a calm day, the water reaches higher than the Eiffel Tower.{image by Jan Tielens}.
3. The Magic Fountain.
This fountain can be seen in Montjuic, Barcelona, Spain. It features an impressive display of light and water organized in three concentric circles. The plumes of water shoot in the air to the rhythm of the Godfather theme. There are 3,620 water jets and plums and 2,600 liters of water shooting every second.{image by chris683}.
4. The Wild Goose Fountain.
This is another fountain that sets a record. It's the largest one in Asia, being distributed over an area of 16.8 ha. The water jets shoot to the rhythm of music and, during the night, are illuminated by LED lights. You can see this impressive fountain in Xi'an, China where it's set against the backdrop of the Big Wild Goose Pagoda.{image by Smurfie_77}.
5. The Moonlight Rainbow Fountain.
Located in Seoul, South Korea, this is the longest fountain in the world. It creates a very impressive show and it also adds a romantic touch to the otherwise very busy city. The fountain features around 10,000 dynamic LED nozzles that are running along both sides of the Banpo Bridge which is 1,140 meters long.{image by Robert Koehler}.
6. The Bellagio Fountains.
Famous all over the world, the Bellagio Fountains can be found in Las Vegas, Nevada and they are situated on an 8-acre lake. They are the city's major attraction and they amaze everyone who passes by. They shoot water that dance on a music background and they capture the spectacular atmosphere perfectly.{image by Eric 5D Mark II}.
7. The Fountain of Wealth.
This is the world's largest fountain. It's located in Suntec City, in Singapore and it's indeed grandiose. The design of the fountain is derived from the Hindu mandala and the fountain even has a legend. The story is that if you walk around the Fountain's central base with your hand immersed in the water and make a wish, it will soon come true.
8. Dubai Fountain.
This fountain can be found in Dubai, UAE and is set on the 30-acre manmade Burj Khalifa Lake. It features over 6,600 incandescent lights and 25 color projectors that can generate a spectrum of over 1,000 abstract compositions. The fountain is 275 meters long and shoots water 150 meters into the air on a background of tunes that range from classical to contemporary Arabic music.{image by wita}.
