Unless you're casting into a well-stocked pond, fishing can be incredibly boring while you wait for something to take your bait. In fact I think it just serves as a plausible excuse for spending countless hours drifting on a lake in a canoe. But the makers of the FishEyes promise to take the boredom out of waiting because they've created a rod and reel that features an integrated wide-angle video camera at the end of the line, sitting just above your bait.

The live video feed is sent to a color LCD display built into the handle, so you can see the fish as they swim by. But it doesn't do anything to actually encourage fish to take a nibble. In fact, I'm pretty sure the built-in LED lights it uses to illuminate your bait underwater would probably serve to scare the fish away. And if the fish aren't biting, seeing a murky live feed of nothing happening underwater isn't any more exciting than sitting and waiting. Finally, according to this incredibly cliched infomercial, the FishEyes only has a little over 25 feet of line, which could make fishing off a tall dock pretty much impossible.

Get it from Amazon for $79.99.

Since starting up my own kids e-mag, I have become aware of the whole e-magazine world. I knew of many of these e-mags before – but suddenly everyone is doing one! Many of them are free to you the reader, and the publishers can do this because they are funded by advertising. Other mags (like mine) have a minimal price tag attached with no advertising.

The History of Email [INFOGRAPHIC]

Email, you've come a long way, baby.

In its 40-year tenure as a form of communication, email has run its course from the domain of über nerdy computer scientists to one of the most common ways to keep in touch, both personally and professionally.

Although email as a mode of communication was around for ten years before the term "email" was actually coined, we now count on it in our daily lives. In fact, the use of email has become so pervasive that the Oxford English Dictionary recently added a slew of email acronyms to its official canon.

And finally, just this year, the AP Stylebook, a.k.a. the holy book of all (or most) journalists, amended the spelling of e-mail to email, allowing articles such as this one to save bigtime on hyphens.

I'm just learning about Dear Photograph which asks you to "take a picture of a picture from the past in the present."  Pretty cool! This sure does make the past a rich memory! Now I need to find a site that does this with video!
