Laser Cut Seasons Cards

Christina from Nib & Tuck recently made her first foray into the world of laser cutting, and the result is her beautiful new Stained Glass laser cut card collection, which features four seasonal designs, including a summer sun, a winter snowflake, a spring flower (which doubles as a poinsettia), and an autumn maple leaf. The snowflake and flower/poinsettia designs would make wonderfully unique holiday cards, don't you think?

Cards can be purchased individually or in a set of four (one of each design) in the Nib & Tuck shop or at Felt & Wire.

Bored with your plain white walls? Check out ixxi, a new Dutch design system that allows you to make your own wallpaper or room divider in any desired size. Basically, it's a modular connecting system comprised of cards and crosses that's a snap to set up. The cards can be printed with your own customized photo or graphic, or you can choose from ixxi's bank of dramatic designs. Unlike giant paintings or painting directly on a wall, ixxi murals can pack down into a tiny parcel when it's time to move and the pieces can even be reused in different configurations.

We know you guys love a good landscape around a fascinating living space. But today we are going to bend the rules a bit and present this fascinating place of retreat called Ayada Maldives and located on the island of Maguhdhuvaa, in the lovely Gaafu Dhaalu Atoll district. The resort consists of 112 luxurious villas and is due to open on October 30, 2011.  Impeccable blue waters, powder white sands and lush vegetation- they all seem to be a given in this miniature paradise. ‘Reading Between the Lines,’ Church by Gijs Van Vaerenbergh

This sculptural church id the result from the collaboration between young Belgian architects Pieterjan Gijs and Arnout Van Vaerenbergh The see-through church is built in the Belgian region of Haspengouw. The church is 10 meters high and is made of 100 layers and 2000 columns of steel. Depending on the perspective of the viewer, the church is either perceived as a massive building or seems to dissolve – partly or entirely – in the landscape.

On the other hand, looking at the landscape from within the church, the surrounding countryside is redefined by abstract lines. The design of the church is based on the architecture of the multitude of churches in the region, but through the use of horizontal plates, the concept of the traditional church is transformed into a transparent object of art.
