It might seem unusual but lots of interesting prints can be created by using something as strange as a rolling pin. In fact, other even more odd objects can be used for the same purpose and include items such as fruits, erasers, potatoes and basically anything that can be used to transfer ink onto another surface to create an original print.
Even though it's quite easy to make this, each pattern created is unique and thus considered a piece of art. So let's see exactly how you can make original prints and patterns using a rolling pin. First of all, you need to prepare your work area. It would really help to keep it clean and organized. Then gather all the supplies. They include craft foam, spray glue, paper, tape, block printing ink, rubber bands, scissors, rolling pins and glass or acrylic from frames.
First, cover the rolling pin with paper and use tape to secure it in place. Then cut out the craft foam in the design you wish. Attach it to the rolling pin using spray glue. The paper will protect the rolling pin. Next, squeeze out some ink on the glass. Spread the ink with a brush and roll the pin in the ink. After that, tape down the paper and roll on the design you have chosen. You can add more layers and alternate the patterns and colors if you like.
